The first job of any cutlery is to take your food from meal to mouth safely and without spillage. But poorly made spoons, forks and spoons can make for a messy meal, an unhappy eating experience and a disappointed customer. Nothing ruins an on-the-go meal faster than cutlery that snaps, bends, or breaks when you need it most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disposable cutlery is essential for convenient eating in all kinds of fast-food environments, from QSRs, convenience stores and retail outlets to in-flight meals and catering at festivals, sports venues and outdoor events. People rely on lightweight, disposable utensils to get maximum enjoyment from their favorite takeout, lunch on a break or snack on the move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our latest WSCS Paper Cutlery range is the perfect solution for hungry fast-food customers – high on strength, low on weight and built with a smooth-textured seal, so they only taste the delicious food they pay for, and nothing else!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But these days, many consumers are looking for much more than convenience and ease of use. With concern for the environment growing, especially among younger demographics, eco-conscious consumers are turning to more sustainable products made from planet-friendly materials which are recyclable or bio-degrade with minimal impact. Consumer attitudes to disposable cutlery are following suit, with a trend away from single-use plastic that ends up in land-fill trash, and a preference for wood, bamboo or paper-based alternatives which either recycle or break down harmlessly after use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WSCS Paper Cutlery is made from fully compostable and biodegradable materials, including multiple layers of FSC-certified paper. Designed for durability, our paper knives, forks and spoons stay intact and strong when exposed to moisture thanks totheir double-coated construction, but after use break down naturally in composting conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Practicality is at the heart of our paper cutlery design. After all, if a product isn\u2019t easy to use, your customers won\u2019t want to use it next time they purchase. Prior to designing our non-plastic range, our WSCS Product Development Team undertook in-depth research to test other brands of on-the-go cutlery available on the market. They quickly found limitations with many competitor products, where the choice of material, product design and manufacturing process often resulted in inferior strength, durability or performance. It seems a desire to move away from plastic sometimes motivates manufacturers to compromise on quality or over-price their products due to over-specification and\/or use of costlier raw materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For us, creating a strong, reliable, eco-friendly and reasonably priced paper cutlery range became a mission. Throughout the development process, our products underwent multiple redesigns to improve their durability, usability and appearance. Take our paper spoon for example- its design was carefully and repeatedly reworked to optimize capacity and prevent spills. Each spoonful now holds up to 4.5ml of liquid, perfect for soups, ice creams, yoghurts and other extra-soft foods – proof that even the smallest design tweaks can make a big difference!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our design team put our paper fork through its paces too, ensuring it can handle even the trickiest bites. Each of our forks features four robust tines, armed with tough, precision-cut tips to help pierce food more easily. No one wants a fork that gives up before their meal is finished!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All our cutlery incorporates 14 layers of bonded paper bound with a double-dip coating to guarantee strength and resistance to hot or cold liquids. But it\u2019s not just about performance. Everything is designed and manufactured for comfort too. Every item is precision-tooled to form a double-molded handle, so it fits comfortably in the hand for an easy, secure grip. All our paper cutlery is super lightweight too (ranging from just 3.2 to 3.7 grams per item), making it ideal for carry-outs and meals on the go, and more cost-effective to transport and store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
